Students to benefit from new Research book

Fundamentals of Scientific Research and Publishing is a book specifically written for post-graduate students who are doing research.  The book consist of six chapters and will give students a good quality introduction on how to conduct proper research.

The launch was on 29 September 2010 on the Mafikeng Campus of the North West University.  Dr Mamolahluwa Mokoena  from the Academic Development Centre (ADC)  and Dr Livingstone Makondo spearheaded  the project and was strongly supported by a number of academic staff members from various faculties.

The book will ensure a professional and high quality output which lives up to NWU’s mission element to develop and sustain high-quality, relevant and focused research.  In 2008, 1 089 research output units were made with 103 National Research Foundation rated researchers.  The University produced 513 publications output units and holds 29 RSA patents of which six are also registered in the USA.  The challenge remains to expand the implementation of expertise even further for the benefit of all.  This book will be an active contributor to this venture.

Dr Mamolahluwa Mokoena  handed a copy of the book to Prof Mosimege, Vice-Rector Academic
