MAFIKENG – FACULTY OF LAW Schools: School of Undergraduate Studies

About us

The School of Undergraduate Studies is responsible for managing all our undergraduate programmes, diplomas and short courses.

At this point, the main undergraduate programmes under the auspices of the School are the Bachelor of Law Degree and the Bachelor of Criminal Justice honours degree.

The School aims to contribute to the life and development of the University and the enhancement of its underlying philosophies.

We strive to instill in our students an interest in the law and its place in the community. Our graduates are equipped for entry into the service of government, the legal profession in the North-West Province and Southern Africa, and the private sector.

The School offers students an understanding of the legal systems of the province and the country, their sources and their relationships to, and interaction with, other legal systems so as to cultivate awareness and a critical approach to the problems of law and law enforcement in Southern Africa.

Some of the modules included in the degree programme include, inter alia, Legal Skills, Private, Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law and Entrepreneurial Law.
