Rules for post-graduate students’ computers connected to the network
Post-Graduate students' personal workstations may be connected to the NWUNET, subject to the following conditions
![]() |
The director / department head / dean must authorize the student in writing, as well as certify that such a connection is essential for study purposes. This allowance is only applicable on registered post-graduate students and for the use in post graduate labs/department labs with its own subnet. |

If the computer, for whatsoever reason, is not connectable via the normal channels / procedures, campus IT will do a best effort to resolve the problem. |

Other costs (for example printing and the usage of centralised storage) will also be the responsibility of the department/school. |

Registration of these students must be done via the official Application for Access to IT Services form |

Every student with access to the NWUNET and other services is bound by the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) policy and rules that result from it. These rules apply in exactly the same manner as if the student was a member of staff that uses an official University computer. |
