Three Graphic Design Students invited to take part in Nampak Packaging Design Challenge
Potchefstroom - North West University Graphic Design students, Carien Roberts, Adele Jonker and Nadia Roodt are three of only five students selected to take part in the Nampak Packaging Design Challenge.
Entry into the Student Category in this competition is by invitation only. The pre-selection of students is based on individual achievements in the Institute of Packaging’s (IPSA) Student Gold Pack Awards. It was at the 2008 Student Gold Pack Awards that Carien Roberts received the Propack Gold overall in design category Award as well as the award for Best in category for dental care packaging. Adele Jonker picked up the Propack Bronze overall in design Award and also won the Nando’s packaging category, with Nadia Roodt receiving a merit award in said category.
The final Nampak Packaging Design Challenge exhibition of winning designs took place at the Design Indaba Expo from February 27 to March 1, 2009, as well as being featured in the Design Indaba magazine.
Students invited to participate stand to gain further insight into the interesting world of packaging design as a career and also add a vital example of their skills to their portfolios that can help create meaningful designs and solutions.
