
MBA–students rewarded for hard work
POTCHEFSTROOM - 49 students from the Potchefstroom Business School (PBS) on the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University (NWU) recently received their Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA) at a prestigious event.
According to Ms Marilize Minne, public relations officer of the PBS, the evening belonged to Mr Aldeon Barend Grobler, who was identified as the student with the best academic results over the three years of MBA study. He received the Old Mutual Gold Medal for this exceptional achievement. Mr Marius Bezuidenhout from Old Mutual’s Klerksdorp branch did the presentation.
Ms Juanita Esther Erasmus was identified as the top performer in the sixth semester with an average of 77%, and received a silver medal from the Professional Provident Society (PPS). Mr JC Vorster, the representative of the PPS branch in Potchefstroom, presented the medal.
“The MBA graduate dinner was an evening of festivity, good memories and goodbyes,” Ms Minne said. “Several students were rewarded for their excellent achievements and hard work over the three years," she added.
A total of 100 guests, including students, PBS personnel and alumni, attended the prestigious event. Of the 49 MBA degrees, eight were obtained at the Vaaldriehoek Campus. Certificates for the best achievement in various subjects were also presented to graduates.
According to Ms Minne PBS will continue to train professional managers of a high quality also in order to contribute to the development of the economy in South Africa in this way.
