As only a limited number of places are available in certain programmes, prospective students are advised to apply as soon as possible. Applications already open in March of the preceding year of study. Applications for selection courses and residence admission close on 30 June.

Can I get a bursary? Of course you can - if you produce good matric marks! With the right marks you probably already qualify for a rebate on your class fees.The NWU offers some of the best bursaries in the country.


Setswana bursaries for the teaching profession

The Faculty of Education Sciences (Potchefstroom Campus) is offering bursaries to learners in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District who are currently in Grade 12 and intend taking Setswana as their major subject for their Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree. These learners must obtain good marks for Grade 12 Setswana and demonstrate an interest in developing Setswana in the educational sector, as well as in teaching Setswana in the Senior and Further Education and Training phases. The bursaries will be offered for 2015.
Closing date: 30 June 2014
Requirements: Grade 12 learners registered for a full-time BEd degree
Applications will be dealt with in accordance with the North-West University’s procedures for bursary applications.
