Security and Safety

The NWU is committed to ensuring the safety of all students, staff and visitors. Your personal safety is Protection Services’ top priority:

• Protection Services is there to protect human lives, property and buildings by providing efficient patrol services, doing crime prevention, investigating cases, protecting Very Important Persons (VIPs) and providing supplementary ambulance and fire fighting services.
• Protection Services can walk you to your vehicle after hours. If you would like to make use of this service, please call the General Security Enquiries number at (018) 299 2211.
• Designated members of staff are trained in first aid. They can be contacted by calling the emergency telephone numbers in operation on each campus and the Institutional Office.

You can also take some precautions by recognising and avoiding any potentially risky situations.
