CTexT does pioneering work in the development and management of human langauge technology in South Africa and has developed its own infrastructure for this purpose that can also be used as national management facilities.
In 2005 CTexT was the winner of the Johan Kruger prize for its outstanding contribution to multilingualism in the country, and in 2006 the centre received an award from PANSALB for the promotion of multilinguism in South Africa. The success that CTexT achieves with this kind of development can be attributed to the fact that all the development work is based on thorough research.
