Researcher excels in speed walking

A researcher from the School of Basic Sciences on the Vaal Triangle Campus (NWU Vaal Triangle) - Prof Elize van Eeden recently proved that the saying, “dynamite comes in small packages” does indeed ring true. Not only did Professor Van Eeden tame the Comrades Marathon earlier in the year with a time of 10:53:38 but she also tasted success during the recent South African Race Walking Championship that took place in Oudshoorn. Velodrome and BMX course possibly shortly a reality

An outdoor BMX Super Cross cycling course and Africa’s first indoor wooden cycling course or Velodrome will, as planned, be erected on the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University before the end of the year.  Read more

NWU and City Council visit Spain

During the second half of January 2010 a delegating from Potchefstroom visited Madrid, the capital of Spain, to settle a number of matters after Spain’s confirmation that they will have their home-base in Potchefstroom during the Fifa World Cup Soccer Tournament.
