
Fourth Soccer Institute Player Joins the Premier League
Former Soccer Institute player Luvolwethu Mpeta (22) has joined the Premiership Soccer League team, Platinum Stars (Dikwena) on a three year contract. Before joining Dikwena, a team based in Phokeng, Rustenburg, he played for the First Division side, FCAK in the previous season.
Luvo as he is affectionately known received a Sports Science Diploma during the 2011 April Graduation Ceremony. He also represented South Africa in the under 20 and under 23 teams and is also a former National University Sports South Africa player.
When asked about his move to Platinum Stars, the Bloemfontein born youngster had this to say, “I am very excited about this move but I need to work harder than before to reward Platinum Stars for the confidence they have shown in me”
Machesa Kgomo, the Soccer Institute Team Liaison Officer, believes the Institute is on the right track in achieving its goals. “This is our fourth product to join a Premiership team since the inception of the Soccer Institute in 2007 and we are looking forward to producing more Premiership League players in the future.
Luvolwethu has already played a friendly for Dikwena on Sunday, 29 July 2012 against Wits which they have won 2 -1. The campus wishes him well for the future.
