NWU-Mafikeng Campus, Faculty of Law

Community involvement

The Faculty of Law, via the Community Law Centre, offers free legal advice and assistance to people who qualify in terms of the Means Test (based on economic indicators).

The Centre is involved in various community and school workshops where basic rights and legal concepts are explained to the community and scholars.

Every month, the Centre arranges visits to rural areas to hold community workshops designed to improve communities knowledge of and ability to gain access to justice.

Another project we focus on is the training of candidate attorneys up to admission as attorneys. Eight candidate attorneys are currently receiving training.
