Mission and Vision

To prepare market-ready graduates through responsive and relevant academic Programmes and community activities.

The mission of the Faculty is to provide students with a balanced, relevant academic and professional experience, quality qualifications, as well as comparable marketable skills that will enable them to contribute significantly to the socio-economic, cultural and political development of the country in general and the province in particular.

This mission is achieved through the following objectives:

  • To prepare students for entry into the professions of Psychology and Social Work in accordance with the requirements of the statutory professional bodies; 

  • To prepare students for a range of interdisciplinary vocations which cater for the needs of the rural character of the province; 

  • To foster an appreciation of the country's linguistic and cultural diversity through the promotion of historically marginalized languages, especially Setswana; 

  • To encourage creative expression, aesthetic appreciation, ethical considerations and critical, analytical thinking; 

  • To provide resources for government, organized labour, business communities, local and national organizations through research and training in all disciplines.
