DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

•

promote the observance of human rights;

•

promote a culture of human rights;

•

promote respect for and protection of human rights;

•

develop an awareness of human rights among the university community and its external environment;

•

monitor and assess the compliance of human rights in the university community;

•

make recommendations to Council for the promotion of human rights within the framework of the law and the Constitution;

•

investigate any alleged violation of human rights within the university community; and

•

assist any person adversely affected thereby to secure redress, and to carry out non-academic educational programmes in the university community on human rights.
