FACULTY OF EDUCATION SCIENCES
Students
Students of the Faculty of Education Sciences pursue a four-year professional qualification that provides both the academic and professional training for qualification as a teacher. The PGCE is a one-year programme that follows an approved degree. Through the Department of Student Development the faculty provides an effective service to student teachers of the University with regard to academic, professional involvement and the creation of opportunities to equip themselves as teachers. The sport, cultural and leadership activities that are arranged for students represent a wide cooperation with a large variety of student subject organisations at the University. All organised activities are characterised by an enjoyable student life and shaping for the teaching profession. The activities are focused on the recruitment and job placement of student teachers, as well as activities in the area of holistic school development, education-oriented community service and academic, cultural, sport and multicultural-oriented skills. The activities contribute to the ongoing reinforcement of organised student life at the University.
