FACULTY OF EDUCATION SCIENCES

Facilities and equipment

Kunslokaal3 Lesinglokaal Motors3

At the Faculty of Education Sciences, students have access to only the best facilities and equipment required to make the most of their university years.

Teacher training focuses not only on the theoretical training, but also on practical experience; therefore, it is necessary for the students to have exposure to the equipment available in practice in order to prepare them for the future.  Classrooms can accommodate large groups of students with ease, and lecturers utilise appropriate teaching methods for the transfer of knowledge to the students.

As the teaching profession is dynamic, it is also necessary for students to keep abreast of the latest developments through access to well-equipped computer laboratories with new programs and fast Internet access. With all these facilities at their fingertips, any student can make a success of her/his teaching studies.

 Education Sciences Library

The faculty boasts a branch library that resorts under the administration of Loan Services of the Ferdinand Postma Library (NWU, Potchefstroom Campus). Its main aim is to provide students, lecturers and staff with information focused on Education.

The library annually receives a generous budget in order to acquire the most recent information sources (books, journals and databases).

There are a number of special collections in the branch library to aid the study of student teachers: pictures, wall maps, videos, CDs, DVDs, elementary picture books and a youth collection.

The branch library’s course reserves ensure that books and other material needed for study are available and accessible to all for use in the library.
