Institutional Registrar
The Institutional Registrar serves as statutory secretary to the Council, Senate, Institutional Management, Convocation and their respective committees and provides guidance towards good corporate governance, ensures compliance with legislatives and statutory requirements and support through the effective functioning of a committee secretariat for the university.
The Institutional Registrar is accountable for student registrations, graduations and examinations at institutional level, the external assurance of academic programme approval, accreditation and registration as well as the establishing and maintaining of student administrative and management information systems.
Other support departments and functions within the Institutional Registrar’s portfolio include institutional archives and museums, records management and administration, the compilation of institutional almanacs and timetables, the provision of legal services to the university as a whole through the Legal Office and internationalisation and resulting agreements.
