Prof Johann Coetzee: living life fully
Prof Johann Coetzee is an industrial and consulting psychologist who has to date counselled more than 27 000 managers, inspiring them to stay positive.
In his 44-year career, he has covered a vast amount of ground, both as a human development consultant and as a professor at the NWU and University of the Free State. His areas of expertise include organisational psychology and wellness, executive assessment and counselling, ethics, aviation psychology and organisation renewal intervention.
He started out as a personnel manager at Frasers Ltd in 1969 before becoming a lecturer at the University of Durban-Westville and joining Edgars as group HR consultant. Prof Coetzee has also worked as an aviation psychologist and is a registered psychologist of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Prof Coetzee is the author of seven books. These include “Beroepsbekering – konfrontasie, krisis en kentering”, which is about dealing with confrontation, crisis and career change, and “It’s about Time”, which offers perspectives on self-management and how to make the most of time and opportunities.
