Soccer Institute player joins FC AK

Former Soccer Institute player, Luvolwethu (Lusta) Mpeta joined Johannesburg football club Azziz Kara (FC AK) during the 2011/2012 season.

Lusta, whose team is number six on the log, has participated in all the national first division games. The left-winger from Bloemfontein has impressed the SuperSport team and Freestate United with his talent.

The Soccer Institute contributed substantially to his soccer career, Lusta said. “My coach always reminded me of three Ds: discipline, determination and dedication,” he added.

In 2008, the 22 year-old sport science graduate played for the under-twenty team in the South African nationals and achieved two caps. In 2009, Lusta represented the Mafikeng Campus at the University Sports South Africa (USSA) championships and was the top goal scorer. He was also a member of the USSA national team that participated in the Confederation of University and College Sports Associations (CUCSA) games in Botswana.

As spectators begin to recognise and support a player, the player’s behaviour and decisions come under increasing scrutiny. However, Lusta seems to take the pressure of playing for a major team in his stride.
